Atlas is an experimental, self-serve educational research tool. It does not and will not provide investment advice, financial planning, tax advice, legal advice, or any recommendation to buy, sell, hold, trim, rotate, harvest, or take any other action with respect to any security. Information displayed may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or simply wrong. You are solely responsible for every investment decision you make.
No recommendations policy
By design, Atlas does not make recommendations. Every view in the product — including AI-generated commentary, rules-based “signals,” tax-loss harvesting “candidates,” stress tests, factor loadings, and all other analytics — is offered as informational output only. Nothing in Atlas tells you what to do. If a section of the product appears to be suggesting an action, treat that appearance as a bug, not a feature, and consult a licensed professional before acting.
Atlas may make mistakes
Atlas is built on public market data (Yahoo Finance via yfinance), mechanical calculations (pandas/numpy/scipy), a small set of hand-coded heuristics, and, in certain sections, output from a large language model (Anthropic's Claude). Any or all of these components can be wrong. Specifically:
- Prices may be stale, delayed by minutes to hours, or missing entirely for illiquid or recently issued securities.
- Option prices and Greeks are model-based (Black-Scholes) and will not match what any actual counterparty would pay.
- Factor loadings are noisy statistical estimates, not precise measurements.
- Tax-lot analytics ignore state-level rules, alternative minimum tax, wash-sale rules across spouse/entity accounts, and many other real-world factors.
- AI-generated commentary can hallucinate, misread numbers, or miss context entirely.
Always verify any number you plan to act on against your brokerage statement and against a licensed professional's review.
Not a registered adviser
Atlas is not a registered investment adviser (RIA), broker-dealer, financial planner, CPA firm, or tax adviser. We are a software tool that computes analytics on data you provide. Nothing on this Site constitutes an offer to buy or sell any security, nor a solicitation of an offer to buy or sell any security, in any jurisdiction.
No individualized advice
The analytics Atlas produces are generic calculations applied mechanically to the data you upload. They do not account for your full financial situation, risk tolerance, tax situation, time horizon, dependents, insurance, liabilities outside the uploaded ledger, employment income, or any other personal circumstance. Before acting on anything you see in Atlas, consult a licensed financial professional who knows your complete situation.
Past performance is not indicative of future results
All performance figures, risk metrics, and scenario projections are historical or hypothetical. They do not predict future returns, drawdowns, or correlations. Investments can and do lose value, including total principal loss. Backtested, hypothetical, or simulated results are inherently limited and should be interpreted with extreme caution.
Market data may be wrong, delayed, or missing
Atlas sources market data from public endpoints (including but not limited to Yahoo Finance via yfinance). That data may be delayed, stale, incorrect, incomplete, split-adjusted inconsistently, or entirely missing for certain tickers — especially for illiquid, international, OTC, or recently issued securities. Options prices, implied volatilities, and Greeks are computed using standard Black-Scholes assumptions that do not hold in reality. Atlas makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed.
Your inputs drive everything
Atlas computes on the trade ledger you upload. If your ledger is missing trades, contains typos, misstates fees, or uses incorrect symbols, every downstream number will be wrong. We do not audit, verify, or reconcile your ledger against any external source. You are responsible for data integrity.
Not tax advice
Any mention of tax lots, wash sales, short-term versus long-term gains, tax-loss harvesting candidates, or similar tax-adjacent concepts is informational only. Tax treatment depends on your specific situation and jurisdiction. Consult a licensed tax professional (CPA or attorney) before acting on any tax-related signal.
AI-generated content
Certain features of Atlas may use large language models (including Anthropic Claude) to generate prose commentary, summaries, or narrative context. AI outputs can be inaccurate, biased, internally inconsistent, or fabricated ("hallucinated"). Treat all AI-generated content as a draft starting point, never as authoritative.
No fiduciary relationship
Use of Atlas does not create an adviser-client, fiduciary, agency, or professional relationship between you and Atlas, its operators, contributors, or affiliates. You have no right to rely on Atlas outputs as professional advice.
Limitations of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Atlas and its operators disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, including but not limited to trading losses, tax mistakes, missed opportunities, or errors in displayed data. See our Terms of Service for the full limitation-of-liability language.
Experimental status
Atlas is an experimental product offered for educational purposes only. Features may change without notice, be removed, or stop working. Calculations may be revised as we discover and fix bugs. Do not treat any Atlas output as authoritative. Do not build automated trading, tax filings, or other real-world systems on top of Atlas outputs.
Use at your own risk
By using Atlas, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted this disclaimer in full, and that you use the Site solely at your own risk. If you do not agree with this disclaimer, do not use Atlas.
This template disclaimer is intended as a starting point. Before launching to the public, have this document reviewed by a licensed securities attorney in your jurisdiction. Securities law is jurisdiction-specific and this language may not be sufficient in yours.
